How a drink gets made

Pearls on the stove
Tapioca pearls boil, rest, then sit warm in brown sugar syrup. A new pot goes on every few hours, and none are kept overnight.

Tea brewed in batches
Black, jasmine and Thai tea are brewed through the day and cooled, so your drink is never watered down by hot tea on ice.

Your sugar and ice go in exactly as ordered, then everything is shaken hard so it is cold all the way through.

Before you sip
What are tapioca pearls made of?
Tapioca starch, which comes from the cassava root. We boil the pearls until they are chewy, rest them, then keep them warm in brown sugar syrup. A fresh pot goes on every few hours and cooked pearls are never kept overnight.
What is popping boba?
Small balls of fruit juice inside a thin, soft skin that bursts when you bite. They are not made from tapioca, so they pop rather than chew.
What is the difference between milk tea and fruit tea?
Milk tea is brewed tea shaken with milk, creamy and smooth. Fruit tea is brewed green or black tea shaken with fruit syrup and ice and no milk, so it is lighter and sharper.
Which drinks have caffeine?
Anything made with tea has caffeine: black, jasmine green, Thai, matcha and the fruit teas. Taro and brown sugar milk are made without tea, so they have none.
How do sugar levels work?
Pick 0, 25, 50, 75 or 100 percent. 100 is the full recipe and 0 means no added syrup. Fruit syrups and toppings like pearls and popping boba still carry their own sugar.
Can I have my drink dairy-free?
Yes. Swap to oat or soy milk for 80 cents, or choose a fruit tea, which has no milk. Leave off the cheese foam, because it is made with cream cheese, milk and cream.
Are your drinks gluten-free?
Brewed tea and fresh milk do not contain gluten, but oat milk, some toppings and some powders may, and we handle them all at the same counter. Ask us before you order and we will check the packet with you.
What is cheese foam?
A thick, lightly salted cap made from cream cheese, milk and cream, spooned on top of the drink. Sip some foam through the edge first, then stir it through.
How do I order ahead for pickup?
Build a drink on this page or fill in the order form, choose a pickup time and we make it so it is ready when you walk in. You pay at the counter when you collect.
What sizes do you have?
Regular is 500ml and large is 700ml. Large is one dollar more and gets a few extra pearls and ice cubes.
Can I get less ice or no ice?
Yes. Less ice and no ice leave more room for tea, so you get more drink in the same cup.
