Quick start
- Install the extension from the Firefox Add-ons store or the Chrome Web Store.
- Pin the 🎯 icon to your toolbar (puzzle-piece menu → pin). Auto-start is on by default.
- Open play.autodarts.io and create your lobby as usual.
- When a 2nd player joins, AutoStarter waits about a second and clicks Start game for you.
Troubleshooting
The game doesn't auto-start
Run through this checklist:
1. Click the 🎯 toolbar icon — is the toggle on? It should say "Enabled — waiting for a 2nd player."
2. Make sure you're on a lobby page at play.autodarts.io (the URL contains /lobbies/). The extension only acts in lobbies.
3. The lobby needs 2 or more players listed — remote friends, local players, and bots all count.
4. Refresh the lobby page and try again — an extension update or a long-idle tab can need a reload.
It only fires once — the next game didn't start
That's by design. AutoStarter clicks once per lobby fill-up, then re-arms automatically when the player count drops below 2 (for example when the lobby empties after a match). If you create a fresh lobby, it's armed from the start.
It started the game while I was still setting up
Any 2nd player row triggers it — including a bot or local player you add yourself. If you're setting up a bigger lobby (3–4 players), click the 🎯 icon and switch it off while you set up, then back on when you're ready.
I can't see the 🎯 icon in my toolbar
Firefox: click the puzzle-piece Extensions button → find AutoStarter → gear/right-click → Pin to Toolbar.
Chrome: click the puzzle-piece Extensions button → find AutoStarter → click the pin icon.
The extension works even when the icon isn't pinned — pinning just makes the toggle easier to reach.
How do I turn auto-start off?
Click the 🎯 toolbar icon and untick "Auto-start when 2nd player joins". Your choice is remembered until you change it. To remove the extension entirely: right-click the icon → Remove.
Does it work with Cricket, X01 and other game modes?
Yes. It doesn't care about the game type — it watches the lobby's player list and clicks the Start game button, so it works with any mode that uses a standard Autodarts lobby.
It suddenly stopped working after an Autodarts update
The extension reads the lobby page, so a major redesign of the Autodarts site could affect detection. If auto-start stops working for you, email us at support@webgecko.au — we'll ship an update.
